Hubert Veneau Pouilly-Fumé - Coteaux du Giennois

Côteaux du Giennois

The Estate located in the little village of Saint Père n the south of the Côteaux du Giennois wine region. The vineyards are located on a south facing slope which makes them ideally placed to benefit from the sunshine for perfect grapes maturation. Parcels of vines are aged from 9 to 40 years old.

Grape Varieties:
  • Sauvignon Blanc for the white wines
  • Pinot Noir and Gamay for red and rosés wines
Soils:
  • White wines are made from grapes who are growing up under chalky-clay soils.
  • Red wines from a combination of chalky-clay soils and a layer of small flinty stones.

Pouilly-Fumé

The vines are growing up in Tracy sur Loire near by the "lieux dits" La Roche and Les Froids.
Just in front of Sancerre the vineyards are located in a former quarry of flint.

This “Terroir” gives to our wines some subtle gun flint notes.

"Les Froids" former property of the Tracy sur Loire parish priest, is nestled on a south exposure above the flinty fault of the quarry and the former bed of the Loire River.
The vines in "La Roche" are situated at the top of the flint quarry and within a South-West exposure.

Grape Varieties:
  • Sauvignon Blanc
